Sometimes Gesso Is Your Best Friend

 

Do you know that feeling when you're working...and working...and working....and you just can't get the canvas to feel right....?

Never fear...

there are so many remedies to save a canvas....

Maybe you're the type of person who can store it for awhile before you decide...

Or perhaps just block out pieces at a time...

I guess I'm impatient...

And impulsive...

So I just cover all in a layer of gesso...

And start all over...

Excited about the transparent background...

That will be another layer...

On my desk this week is another work in progress.  I seem to have a "queen" theme going these days.  If you can't tell from the size of the pic, she's the "Cupcake Queen" balancing glitter, a glittery cupcake, a glittery crown, etc, completely oblivious to the messiness surrounding her....reminds me of someone I know.
