WOYWW 86

Joining Julia at The Stamping Ground for another workdesk reveal -

Created this piece especially for a friend who has many loves...

Delivered it yesterday when we lunched and celebrated her birthday over margaritas....

Occurs to me now I should have included a teeny cocktail image somewhere on there...wonder if she would've discovered it?...before or after the margaritas?

Letter "O" for Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday

Ode To A Heart
Jenny Matlock

WOYWW 85

Please join me in linking with Julia's "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday"  found HERE
for a peek at workdesks around the world.

I thought of everyone when I got to a point that I had so much stuff spread out on my desk (s) that I had myself cornered into a 6" x 6" or less space  frantically working on "The Sketchbook Project"...Complete pandemonium!...Did not take the time to photograph unfortunately...Was on a mission to stay focused and meet that extended deadline, which, I somehow managed.  I really didn't feel I was done and could've spent more time obsessing and doodling and gluing, etc...but had to draw the line somewhere.

So thought I'd share some pics I took before I mailed her off yesterday...
Here's another pic of the cover, which I was actually pretty pleased with:
It was a moleskin sketchbook, which I've never worked with before.  I gessoed the cover and layered lots of paper, mostly New York atlas pages; stamped images on tissue and added  florals from the vast collection of napkins I've hoarded...accumulated.

Then, I added lumieres, lace, some crystals and glitter sealing all with a matte medium.

I had to figure out a closure and came up with this jewelry piece that I glued on and attached some sari ribbon on the back cover  and voila...a button closure (sorta)...

If you'd like to view more artwork and browse participating artists for the Sketchbook Project, go HERE

If you were a participant, let me know...would love to view your work!

Happy WOYWW'ing to all:)

Anyhoo here I am...
Scrambling to finish the "Sketchbook Project" (there's a linky on my sidebar)...
Has to be postmarked by Jan 15 (SATURDAY - EeeeK) ...

Pretty in Pink

I believe in pink.
I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner.
I believe in kissing, kissing a lot.
I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong.
I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.
I believe that tomorrow is another day and
I believe in miracles.
