Well I know that title sounds inappropriate...till you see the PiecE in Progress...
It's a "paint out" of a previous piece that took me forever...yet just didn't jive...
Solution: Gesso all or paint out
I LOVE doing "paint out's" and had put so much detail into the original, I couldn't resist experimenting...
I can't find a picture of the original that I took...however...I'm carrying on...
Still pondering over outlining and adding text....what do you think?
And P.S. Multi tasking on last weeks peek too!

What a lovely, colorful and fun piece. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI like it, text would step it up a notch for sure, maybe the title of this post!! It really is beautiful
ReplyDeletei love the colors in this-- the light blue and red are such a strking contrast!
ReplyDeleteVery fun piece. Love it! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI think that is the perfect title... I would have used it for sure... and the painting is great fun as well... xx
ReplyDeleteYour birds are fabulous on the teal! I have done that on canvases before when they just don't work and I have not regretted it yet. You've got such great texture on the background!
ReplyDeleteVery, very cool!
ReplyDeleteLove the play with figure and ground!
Now I want to try painting out, too. :)

Happy PPF!!

I love your flock! They are so colorful and textured and sweet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool technique! I have a few questionable paintings I'd like to try that with! The colors are fantastic - I love the combination of red and teal. Each time I look at your painting, I find new details. I think a bit of outline/accenting is a good idea...maybe with a charcoal pencil? Fantastic work! Hugs, Terri
ReplyDeleteTerrific collage and loving the fab colours. Happy PPF, Annette x
ReplyDeleteOMG...I love it just like it is. I don't understand the technique but it's awesome.
ReplyDeleteWait a minute. Are you saying you took an old painting (the one with lots of red) and then painted the blue over it to leave bird shapes? I love it even more!!!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, awesome! I love the layers!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Great details showing through. :)
ReplyDeleteLove all the little details from the previous painting shining through. Great work!
ReplyDeleteI love doing paint-outs - it's a great excuse to not stress about what the first layer looks like! Happy belated PPF!
ReplyDeleteYou took a big chance I think, and it paid off! You got a great result. Beautiful! I would find that very hard to do..unless I did it digitally. And I found it hard to do digitally.
ReplyDeleteWell done!!
This is brilliant, what a great way to salvage a painting that wasn't working for you.
ReplyDeleteOOOOH! That's awesome! AND I totally get you - I spent 4 whole days working on a piece last week that I decided I just hated. But what you did took so much courage - and the results are already so cool - love the eye peeking out of the flock ;)
ReplyDeleteBravo, xo
PS So sorry for taking so long to respond, I had some Google troubles :)
I absolutely love this piece, it is stunning. If you add text then just do the odd word here and there- but I do love it like it is. Happy PPF.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea That works sooo well!
ReplyDeleteLooks adorable! I looooove the bright red and the green with the turqoise together! Lovely ♥
