Started a project that's been on my mind for awhile....
Inspired by Lynne Hoppe whose blog posts are always a delight!
Began with this book I found for a buck on a Saturday yard sale venture...
I knew I would be using the pages in artwork...the cover for a journal .... so started with the Letter "A" last eve....
A smear of gesso on the "A" pages then toted colored pencils and sharpie poster paints to the bedroom where I played around before drifting off to dreamland...
Meet "Agnes"! I like seeing all the "A" words and those little mice that appeared in her hair...I even like her unique nose:)
"Agatha" will be joining her soon as her page partner tonight right before dreamland....pretty sure she'll have her own unique features too..
Be sure to explore other workdesks & easels around the world by clicking on the boxes below...

ReplyDeleteGreat idea and I've been looking at all my old college books from way back. I too loved the cat in the hat. Great project. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi there Theresa, Thanks for popping over and for sharing cheery Agnes with us, and the altered Dictionary! Shaz in Oz.x
ReplyDeleteOh wow - I HAD that dictionary growing up. Haven't thought of it in ages. Great face! So much cooler for the background it sits on. Hope you post more!
ReplyDeleteWOW, I'm really, really late getting here, but I sure like your latest book you are altering. A is for exceptional art, too. Not sure why we give "A's" when we should be giving "E's," but I guess that's because our alphabet begins with an A and so it's the most important, maybe. Super great art, collage, and book page. I like the little mice, too!
ReplyDeleteI love this!! I love the ideas you were inspired with for the background. GREAT! I have to say I really adore Adnes' nose. It makes her face so, so interesting. :)
ReplyDeleteLove Dr. Suess - what a great way to revisit and enhance one of his books!
