Sharing Bday Treasures

49 is another good birthday year....

I am blessed with thoughtful family and friends...

I tried to capture some of the gifts I received...THIS MAC compliments of my husband's supportive nature....

A lovely hanger from my daughter that I've admired many times at Pier One (and she chose it on her own)

I got dollars from Ma n Pa - yes, they still do that for a 49 year old - and I spent some on a book in Sante Fe that I thought was PERFECT for my art - Pictoral Webster's....and magazines - this one features one of my fave artists that I follow...and probably you do too...Diane Salter - so thrilled she was published in this edition...

And Just Look at this beautiful piece handmade by my pal....

So perfectly detailed and personalized... she had a whole theme in store for my yummy bday lunch with her.....

GARDENS...which we both share a love for....

I don't want to give too much away, for she will soon be opening her very own etsy shop...

and sharing her one of a kind pieces.....

I keep encouraging her to start a blog and share her talents....

But regardless, I love my bday treasures, my family, friends and think 49 is going to continue to be a GOOD year!

I Know This Girl.....

Acrimboldo style as taught by Pam Carriker - 90lb watercolor, acrylics, neos

I know this girl who works at Starbucks
She's a coffee connoisseur
She can rattle off those coffee orders that are like a foreign language to me
She tests me on the acronyms that are on the side of the cup
My memory is usually not so good
Yesterday I met her and one of her coworkers for lunch
There was alot of Starbucks chatter
It was interesting being with her in this environment
listening to their connection
and Starbucks Stories
This is only a tiny part of her world.
She goes to school full time
Most mornings she is up at the crack of dawn
If she is not scheduled for work at Starbucks, she's exercising her body and brain
She's the most organized person I know
She always makes time for her friends and is usually the one doing all the driving
She is the best friend I know
She likes singing to our dog
Our dog tries to sing with her
It's funny
She is the funniest person I know
She always does her best
I am so proud of her everyday
She makes me want to be a better person
BUT
Don't tell her this...
I'm a Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee drinker.

A New Recipe

I don't know why...
But There Is Something Special  To Me
About My Daughter Getting SO excited about leaning something NEW..
Should I say  the preparation/presentation/recipe research of Food....?

She Is a Tough Cookie!  Only specially selected recipes will be approved....namely, healthy, lowfat, etc which I normally associate with tasteless, BUT...this is a simple...and tasteful one...that she prepared....on her Own...and even her Father approved....
It's easy...and casual...and very tasty...I promise...

I'll Share the Recipe....For the Marinated Chicken Breast -

Ingredients

8-4oz Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast (Fresh or Frozen) 1 cup water 1/2 cup olive oil 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar 4 tsp dried onion flakes 3 tsp italian seasoning 3 tsp ground mustard 2 tsp thyme 2 tsp salt 2 tsp black pepper

Directions

Mix olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Italian seasoning, thyme, salt, pepper and onion flakes in 1 gallon resealable plastic bag along with 8 -4oz boneless/skinless chicken breast (frozen or fresh). Allow chicken to marinate for at least 1/2 hour. Heat grill place chicken on grill and sear both sides. Then cook until the meat is white through-out or at an internal temp of 180 degrees Fahrenheit.

Yep, we had to add Grilled Veggies...Just Toss them in a Zip-Lock baggie with Olive Oil and Kosher Salt....

Enjoy!
